I am a stay at home Mom to two little cherubs aged six and seven. They were only toddlers when I started this blog as I had just discovered a new passion for fabrics and making beautiful one-of-a kind clothing and home decor to style their room. Then came the birthday cake creations which got bigger each year and then came Coeliac Disease for my six year old. It totally turned our world upside down. Everything we did, whether it be a party or a lazy afternoon at a local coffee shop, just stopped for a while. It seemed impossible to eat out, endless discussions with chefs and wait staff never seemed to yield the same response regarding ingredients and preparation practices which just led us to confusion and distrust. With a long road ahead to help our little girl recover I finally took the plunge and went to a Thermomix demo. I had been hearing about them for a few years but never thought I would actually purchase one. A demo by Georgia at Stirring Change had me sold within five minutes. I bought one, embraced gluten free living and the rest is history.
We are all healthier for our mostly whole foods home menu although treats and celebration cakes do pop up! I like to recreate store bought favourites to gluten free for my children to enjoy and occasionally when I get a break from the kitchen I dust off the sewing machine :)
